Human Resources Business Partner

Article Student Living is hiring an HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources team. The HR Business Partner will serve as a strategic partner to leaders across the organization, aligning HR strategies with business priorities. You will provide guidance on workforce planning, talent management, employee engagement, and organizational development while supporting managers in making people-focused decisions. We are seeking a proactive, strategic, and relationship-oriented professional who can handle decision-making, navigate complex employee matters, and implement HR best practices across the organization.

You will report to the HR Director.
You will work on-site at our Chicago, IL office Monday–Thursday and from home on Fridays.
The salary range for this role is 90K – 100K, plus an annual bonus.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with leaders across the organization to provide strategic HR guidance and support workforce planning, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Lead and support HR initiatives, including change management, process improvements, and cultural transformation efforts.
  • Address complex employee relations matters, provide coaching to managers, and conduct investigations as needed to ensure fairness and compliance.
  • Collaborate with managers to drive consistent performance management, development opportunities, and disciplinary processes.
  • Promote employee engagement, retention, and a positive workplace culture through initiatives, surveys, and DEIB programs.
  • Analyze HR metrics to identify trends, provide actionable insights, and support data-informed decision-making.
  • Support implementation and enforcement of HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements across the organization.
Your Track Record:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of HR experience, within a business partner or generalist role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, HR analytics, and reporting.
  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred.
