Role Synopsis
Retail People Relations (RPR) is a globally connected team within People, Communications & Culture, responsible for providing expert People Relations support across the company’s retail COCO network.
RPR team members partner closely with business leaders, People & Culture (P&C) teams, legal, and external stakeholders to deliver consistent, high-quality guidance on all People Relations matters. The team’s expertise spans everything, including (but not limited to) general RPR queries, workplace investigations and disciplinary, grievance resolution, business change (e.g. divestments and acquisitions), and support with Industrial Relations. The RPR Advisor provides hands-on People Relations support and serving as a local RPR SME for business leaders and P&C with in the company’s.
Role Purpose
To deliver expert advisory support on People Relations, discipline, grievance management, and performance issues while ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.

Role Accountabilities

Concern Management & Escalation
: Handle direct action and complex People Relations concerns, ensuring timely concern resolution in line with SLA guidelines, maintaining accurate records and updates throughout.

Policy:
Contribute to the development and review of people’s relations policies, ensuring they remain fit for purpose and aligned with local legislative changes and business needs. Support the implementation and regular review of people relations policies, providing insights into local requirements and ensuring practical application across the business.

Policy Guidance:
Provide advice on local labor laws, policies, and procedures.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Act as a buddy for the Specialist Team (if applicable) and contribute to best practice sharing.

Continuous Improvement:
Use RPR data metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement and engagement. Suggest solutions to problems. Support knowledge creation and maintenance

Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure People Relations support aligns with local legislation and the company’s policies. Identify potential People Relations risks and share with RPR leaders. Where possible, provide recommendations for mitigation.

Labor Rights & Modern Slavery:
Complete LRMS actions in line with the set targets, ensuring that the market is compliant.

Psychological Safety:
Ensure psychological safety is upheld through all concerns handling and employee interactions. Maintain a respectful and non-judgmental approach in all interactions, and provide guidance to employees and leaders on wellbeing-related concerns and refer employees to appropriate support (EAP or other).

Essential Experience and Job Requirements

2+ years experience handling People Relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and concerns resolution.

Strong understanding of local labor laws and policies.

Ability to advise and support managers on employee-related issues.
