Position Mission: T
he Employee Relations Specialist will play a crucial role in assisting the HR team in aligning business objectives with employees and management. The candidate will be responsible for the equitable application of employment law and company policies within the workplace and will serve as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues, act as an employee champion, and drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Function as a Human Resources leader, advisor and direct point of contact in regards to people related strategies that include; policy and procedure compliance, performance management, employee relations, succession planning and retention.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise for their respective territories by ensuring compliance to mandatory labor laws, acts, and fair practices; is always abreast and proactive to upcoming changes for the city, state, and federal labor statutes or by-laws that impact and protect our people and company; and “go-to” expert on team member relations.
  • Coach Operations leadership on employee relations matters to promote a people first culture and achieve a resolution without litigation.
  • Advise and assist in disciplinary matters. Provide guidance on proper application of Company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct investigations involving high liability (sexual harassment, discrimination, hour and wage, EEO) Team Member complaints and disputes and prepare documentation of issues to decrease third party claims
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and assist with issue resolution.
  • Assist in maintaining HR compliance by keeping abreast of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing HR processes and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with HR team members to drive HR-related projects to completion.


Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of HR experience.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Bilingual – Spanish/English - required

Travel:

  • Travel potentially up to 75%; 25% out of his or her home market
