The Human Resources Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Department in the areas of staffing, benefits, and HRIS Administration. This position plays an essential role in maintaining accurate employee records and supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR team. The HR Clerk ensures that employee information is handled with confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism while delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the HR Department including answering incoming calls, composing correspondence, preparing documents, maintaining employee files, and performing accurate data entry.
- Support onboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions for new hires, including document preparation and system entry.
- Assist in the administration of employee benefit programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Support employee leave management and workers’ compensation claims, ensuring timely communication and documentation.
- Prepare and update various HR and benefits-related reports using HRIS and Excel-based tools.
- Review and process vendor invoices for accuracy prior to payment.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, policies, and procedures in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with job postings, background check requests, and communication with store management regarding recruitment and hiring needs.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive or personal employee information.
- Collaborate with HR team members to ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures across all departments.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8-5
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and 6 months of experience in human resources or general office work
- Good data entry skills (alpha and numeric)
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and Word
- Knowledge and ability to use all standard office equipment including personal computers
