Title: Human Resources Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Human Resources
Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $61,000 to $72,000
Position Summary
The Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Human Resources Coordinator to provide operational and employee-facing support to the Director of Human Resources. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient HR processes across payroll, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and committed to ACF’s people-first culture and core values of collaboration, gratitude, inclusivity, and trust.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Benefits
  • Assist with the preparation, processing and review of semi-monthly payroll and finance-related processes.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and systems.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in the HRIS (Paycom). Create and run regular and custom reports for the team as requested.
  • In collaboration with the Director, coordinate annual benefits open enrollment communications and implementation.
  • Assist with the annual performance review and goal-setting process.
  • Update and maintain ACF’s current compensation program data.
Recruiting & Onboarding
  • Coordinate job postings, candidate communications, and interview scheduling as well as take a lead role on conducting interviews for more entry-level roles.
  • Assist with offer letters, background checks, and onboarding logistics.
  • Prepare onboarding materials and support orientation sessions for new hires.
  • Help maintain a welcoming and organized onboarding experience aligned with ACF’s culture, following and supporting new employees for their first full year.
Employee Engagement
  • Support employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and internal communications.
  • Assist with scheduling and logistics for HR-related meetings, trainings, and events.
  • Help administer and monitor employee surveys and compile feedback for the People & Culture team and ACF leadership and staff.

  • Serve as the point person for the coordination of the employee core values and milestone anniversary recognition program awards.
Other
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and documentation, with an emphasis on technology and innovation.
  • Participate in the goal setting and achievement of people and culture goals tied to ACF’s strategic plan.
  • Update organizational chart and seating chart as employees are on and offboarded.
  • Manage SharePoint resource hubs for human resources, policies, benefits, and engagement/culture.
  • Research and benchmark new programs, benefits, training and technology, as requested, to ensure the People & Culture team continues to evaluate and elevate current offerings.
  • Train on reception protocols to serve as a backup for reception when needed.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives for the team.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in human resources or administrative support, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (Paycom preferred), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams and Copilot, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on building strong, trusting relationships with colleagues across an organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, maintaining confidentiality of employee information, both personal and performance-related.
  • Collaborative work-style and positive contributor to team and organizational culture.
  • Ability to stay focused and calm under pressure and be adaptable when unexpected changes in work arise.
  • Embodies ACF’s core values in working with internal and external stakeholders and has a passion for community service and impact.
