Job Description

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team at a well-established K–12 school in West Covina, California. This role is essential to strengthening our internal operations, supporting faculty and staff, and fostering a positive, compliant, and collaborative school environment.

Core Duties

  • Maintain accurate payroll, timekeeping, and personnel records; ensure compliance with California labor laws and internal policies.
  • Manage full-cycle hiring, onboarding, credential checks, and substitute staffing.
  • Support employee relations, resolve issues professionally, and uphold consistent policy enforcement.
  • Track attendance, leave balances, performance reviews, and contract timelines.
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation, incident reporting, and maintain HR compliance documentation.
  • Prepare HR reports and support leadership with policy updates and communication.

Key Skills

  • Strong organization and accuracy in administrative and compliance tasks.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication.
  • Experience with HR systems and data tracking (e.g., payroll, timekeeping, onboarding).
  • Sound judgment, confidentiality, and ability to apply policy consistently.
  • Calm, proactive problem-solving and ability to follow established procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Solid understanding of California labor laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently.
  • Experience in education or K–12 school settings is a plus.

Compensation

  • Pay: From $25.00 per hour (commensurate with experience).
