Human Resources Coordinator

HR Coordinator

Location: Rowlett, TX (Onsite)

Job Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt Hourly

Reports To: HR Director

About the Role

Tongrun International is a precision sheet metal fabricator with facilities in Bonham and Rowlett, TX. We are in an active growth phase, and we are building the HR infrastructure to match our operational ambition.

This is a role for someone who creates order from complexity, finds meaning in being the person who builds what others will rely on, and thrives when every day requires judgment, adaptability, and initiative. You will work directly with the onsite HR Director, partner closely with HR in Bonham, and serve as the daily HR presence at our Rowlett facility, coordinating staffing, onboarding, and HR operations while helping us build the processes and tools that will carry this company forward.

This role is a strong foundation for potential growth into an HR Generalist position as our Rowlett site expands.

What You Will Do

HR Administration and Compliance

  • Maintain employee files and process status changes, terminations, and leave requests accurately.
  • Support benefits administration including enrollment changes and LOA tracking.
  • Assist with HR reports, headcount tracking, and required compliance documentation.
  • Maintain required workplace postings in compliance with federal and Texas law.
  • Assist in developing and documenting HR processes and standard operating procedures as the function matures; you will help build the systems, not just follow them.
  • Answer routine employee questions; escalate non-routine matters to the HR Director.

Temporary Workforce Coordination

  • Coordinate with approved staffing agencies to fulfill temp headcount requests following established processes.
  • Facilitate temp worker onboarding, orientation, and required pre-deployment training.
  • Maintain accurate records of temp workers including assignments, tenure, and conversion eligibility windows.
  • Notify HR Director and hiring managers when temp-to-hire conversion criteria are approaching.
  • Process temp-to-regular conversions and separations.
  • Maintain process documentation so that these workflows are scalable and not dependent on any single person.

Onboarding and New Hire Administration

  • Coordinate pre-employment paperwork, background checks, and I-9 verification for hires.
  • Prepare offer letters, new hire packets, and orientation materials.
  • Facilitate benefits enrollment, badge access, and systems setup for new employees.
  • Conduct 30-day and 90-day new hire check-ins; surface concerns to the HR Director.
  • Identify gaps in the new hire experience and recommend improvements; you will help shape the onboarding program, not just execute it.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS system.

Recruiting Support

  • Post approved job requisitions to Indeed, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
  • Screen resumes against defined criteria; coordinate interview scheduling.
  • Maintain a professional candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
  • Track open requisition status and provide weekly updates to the HR Director.

Reception and Facility Support

  • Serve as the welcoming first point of contact for employees, visitors, and candidates.
  • Manage HR-related calls and correspondence professionally.
  • Support light facilities coordination as needed in collaboration with site leadership.
  • Maintain organized and audit-ready HR workspace, shared drives, and physical filing systems.

What We Are Looking For

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 1 or more years of HR coordination, administrative, or office support experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with temporary staffing agency processes and vendor coordination is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; HRIS experience is a plus.
  • Ability to create and maintain your own organizational systems in an environment where established processes are still being built; you do not wait to be handed a framework.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity; you can hold multiple moving parts without losing accuracy or composure.
  • A Servant-Leadership mindset: you see gaps not as someone else’s problem but as your opportunity to contribute something lasting.
  • Professional discretion when handling confidential employee information.
  • Approachable communication style across all levels of the organization.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.
