Empowering a Healthier South Carolina—One Hire at a Time
The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking a dynamic, service-driven Recruitment & Staffing Coordinator to help shape a highly skilled, diverse, and mission-committed workforce. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about supporting public health through strategic hiring, we invite you to explore this exciting opportunity.
Why Join Us?
At DPH, you’ll play a meaningful role in strengthening public health across South Carolina. You’ll work alongside dedicated professionals who are committed to service, innovation, and continuous improvement—all while enjoying opportunities to grow your own career.
Ready to make a difference? Let’s build the future of public health together.
Pre-Posting Consultation:
You’ll kick things off by partnering with hiring managers to fine-tune job qualifications and make sure each posting hits the mark. Think of yourself as the talent-matchmaking guide — aligning workforce needs with real-world labor market trends and shaping recruitment strategies that are both effective and equitable. It’s strategic, it’s collaborative, and it keeps the hiring engine running smoothly.
Recruitment & Job Posting Management:
Here’s where your creativity and strategy shine. You’ll craft job postings that don’t just list duties — they spark interest and invite diverse talent in. You’ll recommend the smartest mix of internal and external channels, ensure postings meet DPH and DSHR standards, and track how each job advertisement performs. With a pulse on applicant flow, you’ll help guide targeted outreach that builds a pipeline of strong candidates ready to make a difference.
Application Screening & Candidate Referral:
You’ll take the lead on structured, compliant application screening, making sure every candidate is reviewed fairly and consistently. Once you’ve identified who meets—and exceeds—the qualifications, you’ll present polished candidate pools to hiring managers. It’s all about making the selection process smoother, faster, and more equitable for everyone involved.
New Hire Processing & Onboarding Coordination:
You’ll be the trusted navigator for new employees as they move from offer to first day — ensuring all the important details are handled with accuracy and care. From preparing offer letters to guiding new hires and managers through onboarding tasks, you’ll help set the stage for a warm, seamless welcome. You’ll manage I-9/E-Verify, credentials, background checks, and documentation, collaborating with internal teams to resolve issues quickly.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform related duties and special projects as assigned. Support departmental emergency response needs, which may occur outside normal business hours. Travel may be needed to support this effort.
