Job Summary:

Physicians' Primary Care (PPC) is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Fort Myers, FL. The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the human resources operations of PPC by providing assistance in the areas of recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, training, and compliance. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with management and staff to foster a positive, compliant, and productive work environment, while ensuring that HR functions align with the overall goals of PPC.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment and Staffing:
    • Assist in the full recruitment cycle, including posting job openings, recruiting, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating hiring processes.
    • Handles all forms of background checks and drug screenings.
    • Onboard new employees, ensuring completion of required documentation, training, and orientation.
    • Attend career fairs and recruitment events.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and other work-related concerns.
    • Help mediate employee disputes and assist in conflict resolution, ensuring a positive and respectful workplace culture.
  • Compensation and Benefits Administration:
    • Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave of absence management.
    • Maintain employee benefits records and ensure timely enrollment, changes, and terminations.
  • Compliance and Recordkeeping:
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as healthcare-specific regulations (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA).
    • Maintain accurate HR records, including employee files, certifications, and training logs.
    • Handles FMLA & ADA forms and notifies leadership when necessary.
  • Performance Management:
    • Notifies leadership of performance/evaluations when due and tracks for compliance.
  • Payroll Support:
    • Ability to support payroll processing and timekeeping for employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to applicable wage laws.
  • General HR Administration:
    • Provide administrative support to the HR department, including preparing reports, handling employee queries, and maintaining HR documentation.
    • Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
    • Maintains all required HR documentation in document management system in a timely manner.
    • Coordinate and attend employee events, holiday activities, and rewards programs.
    • Performs other related duties and special projects as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Will consider experience in lieu of formal education.
  • At least 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a healthcare setting or medical group office.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, labor laws, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with healthcare-specific regulations (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), HRIS systems, and other HR-related software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with recruitment and onboarding in a medical or healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of medical group operations and the unique needs of healthcare staff.
Work Environment:
  • This position is primarily office-based (non-remote). Occasional travel to PPC offices and recruitment fairs may be required.
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Physical Demands:
  • The position requires the ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of office supplies or materials may be required.
