Overview

The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in the HR department of our personal injury law firm in Texas. This role is responsible for managing various human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and organized professional who can handle multiple HR tasks in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and Onboarding:

· Coordinate and conduct the full recruitment cycle for legal and administrative positions.

· Develop and post job advertisements on various platforms.

· Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and facilitate the hiring process.

· Organize and conduct new employee orientations and onboarding programs.

Employee Relations:

· Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and issues.

· Foster a positive work environment by organizing team-building activities every quarter and promoting firm culture.

· Assist in resolving employee conflicts and grievances in a fair and consistent manner.

Benefits Administration:

· Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.

· Conduct benefits orientations and assist employees with enrollment and claims.

· Liaise with benefits providers to ensure competitive and comprehensive offerings.

Compliance and Record-Keeping:

· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

· Maintain accurate employee records and update HR databases.

· Assist in preparing reports and documentation for audits and inspections.

Performance Management:

· Support the performance appraisal process, including tracking and documentation.

· Collaborate with managers to identify training and development needs.

· Assist in developing and implementing employee training programs.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a law firm or legal setting.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills. Strong understanding of HR principles and employment law. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time 100% on-site position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Occasional travel may be required for recruitment events or training sessions.
  • Salary: The starting salary is $70,000 per year + Bonus.
