Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating various functions and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. This is a full-time on-site position located in Howell, MI. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for implementing HR policies, maintaining employee benefits and administration. Day-to-day responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with HR regulations, supporting employee relations, and facilitating the on boarding processes. This position requires someone who takes the initiative to learn all aspects of Human Resources and who is not afraid of challenges.


Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the new hire process from initial request from management to completions of on-boarding.
  • Facilitate the termination process.
  • Maintain accurate HR files, records and documentation.
  • Support and assist the Director of Human Resources with new employment documents and changes, filing/mailing and out-processing employees.
  • Periodic audits of HR records to ensure appropriately filed and collected.
  • Assist in the coordination of employee benefits and open enrollment. Act as liaison between the organisations benefit brokers and insurance carriers.
  • Responsible for reviewing and reconciling monthly insurance invoices.
  • Assist with 401k plan required mailings, document submissions and paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate records of the company auto policy.
  • Track and maintain credit cards.
  • Order and maintain compliance posters.
  • Complete and submit WOTC program information, EEO and VETS reporting.
  • Tracks Drug and Alcohol training and recurrent training for management.
  • Maintains confidentiality and integrity of files, records and the HR department.
  • Be willing to jump in and try new idea's and concepts.


Job Requirements

  • Experience in Paylocity high desired.
  • General knowledge of employment laws including FLMA, OSHA and WC regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or Associates Degree in a related field with a minimum of three to five years HR experience.
  • Professional certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
