What You Will Be Doing
As the HR Generalist you will work as part of our team to provide support and exemplary customer service to our employees and supervisors. This is a true generalist role where you will be responsible for all areas of HR for your assigned departments including recruitment, facilitating new hire orientation, benefits administration, FMLA/ADA/Workers’ Compensation, employee relations, performance management and compensation. You will have the opportunity to be involved in projects that impact our employee culture such as job fairs, various recruitment initiatives, DEI&B initiatives, and agency committees. If you are an enthusiastic individual who is team oriented with a passion for all things HR and want to work for a mission driven agency focused on improving the mental health and wellbeing of our community—this may be a perfect match! After six months, this position has the ability to work remotely up to 2 days per week depending on operational needs.



What We Require
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field with a minimum of one year of HR experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education is required. HR Certification strongly desired (PHR/SHRM-CP). We are looking for someone who has strong customer service, organizational skills, critical thinking skills, and is detail oriented. You will need to have experience with MS Office programs as well as using an HRIS system (UKG Ready experience preferred). Prior experience with recruitment, ATS systems and sourcing CRM software. Knowledge of labor laws including FLSA, FMLA, and ADA. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfortable presenting to small groups. Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations, including, but not limited to, visual and/or audiological appliances and devices to increase mobility.

Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing.Requires light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot and ability to hear and communicate verbally.

Working Conditions – In office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. May encounter community environments that include homes, schools, courts, and other community settings that may or may not be barrier-free. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area may be required.
