The role of the HR Generalist will run the daily functions of the HR Department including onboarding, administration, benefits, leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

The HR Generalist is responsible for:

  • Compile and enter new employee data
  • Update employee information and benefit changes
  • Create and maintain employee files
  • Create corporate announcements, postings, and surveys
  • Answer employee questions concerning benefits, HR policies and etc.
  • Complete employment and payroll verifications
  • Benefits enrollment
  • Comply with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations
  • Maintain accuracy and privacy of confidential information
  • Conduct research and statistical compilation
  • Create and maintain charts, forms, spreadsheets, presentations, reports and etc.
  • Plan and oversee company social events
  • Employee training
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

The HR Generalist is accountable for:

  • Ensuring company policies and guidelines are followed regularly.
  • Providing exceptional services to Mesa and employees.
  • Ensuring work is clean, neat, and free from errors. Work should be approached and presented logically showing all assumptions and bases for conclusions reached. The role of quality in maintaining the professional image of the Company cannot be over-emphasized and thus is required for accountability.
  • Adhering to task deadlines.
  • Maintaining Mesa Family Culture.

The HR Generalist has the authority to:

  • Enforces policy set forth by Mesa Policy, Code of Conduct, Procedures and Processes.
  • Coordinates employment decisions with the HR Manager and Director.
  • Mentors author team members.

The HR Generalist must have the following competencies or more:

  • Advanced PC skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Internet, Intranet & Adobe Professional
  • Customer‐service oriented with a positive, ‘can‐do’ attitude
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and analyze information with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple projects that require interaction with various and types of information
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize task completion is required
  • Ability to meet deadlines with quality results in situations of high urgency
  • Knowledge of employment/labor law
  • Good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to facilitate meetings
  • Ability to independently anticipate problems and changing priorities
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and managers with strong conflict resolution skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and 5+ years of experience in an administrative role.


WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

  • Normal office environment.
  • Position may require extended hours with local and out-of-town travel.
