Human Resources Generalist

Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation (TAES) provides energy industry solutions – new equipment, retrofits, maintenance, outage planning and more – for current and future power generation needs in the Americas, including thermal, hydro and nuclear power plants.

Position Summary

We are seeking a full-time, on-site, HR Generalist to work at our Milwaukee Service Center located in West Allis, WI. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for administering core HR programs and providing day-to-day support across multiple functional areas, including employee relations, policy administration, compliance, benefits guidance, and personnel transactions. This role partners closely with managers and employees to improve performance, resolve workplace issues, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional with strong judgment, communication skills, and experience in a manufacturing or related industry.

  • Partner with engineering, operations, and service leaders as a trusted HR advisor as well as serve as primary contact for employee inquiries.
  • In partnership with Talent Acquisition and Hiring Managers, interview candidates and facilitate the hiring process. Provide support during the onboarding and orientation process.
  • Foster a respectful workplace through early issue resolution and as appropriate conduct investigations and support the execution of appropriate resolutions.
  • Facilitate offboarding process including terminations, exit interviews, system maintenance and communication to payroll and IT.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance management and talent management.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant employee record, org charts and process HRIS transactions (hires, changes, leaves, terminations).
  • Provide daily HR administrative support to the site and field service activities (coordinating drug tests, background checks, etc.)
  • Lead or support employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
  • Plan and coordinate on‑site meetings, training events and activities.
  • Drive site‑level Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and volunteer programs.
  • Draft and distribute/post communications aligned with enterprise messaging.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to HR processes and employee experience.
  • Lead/Participate in HR Projects.

Education and Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required (HR, Business, or related)
  • 3+ years progressive HR experience preferably in engineering, manufacturing, industrial services, or complex operational environments.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize a variety of tasks
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Ability to partner with multiple levels within the organization
  • Excellent communication, judgment, and relationship-building skills.

The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk throughout the shop. The employee is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

The majority of this work takes place in an office and the work environment is that of a typical office environment in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are usually moderate. Frequently the employee will interact with personnel in the plant where he/she may be exposed to higher noise levels.
