Human Resources Generalist

Summary/Objective:


The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing all HR-related duties on a professional, confidential level and works closely with leadership team members. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.


Responsibilities/Essential Functions:


Talent Acquisition and Onboarding

  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs
  • Post job openings, screen applicants, coordinate interviews through Paycom
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation activities

Employee Relations and Engagement

  • Acts as a trusted HR resource to employees and managers on policies, performance issues and workplace concerns
  • Support conflict resolution and disciplinary process as needed

HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate employee records (electronic and physical)
  • Administer and manage benefit programs
  • Prepare HR documents such as offer letters, onboarding materials and policy updates

Performance Management

  • Assist in coordinating performance review and evaluations
  • Help managers and employees understand performance processes

Compliance & Policy

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Help develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures
  • Manage all Workers' Compensation claims and Unemployment claims

Reporting & HR Metrics

  • Track and analyze HR data (e.g., time to hire, turnover rates) and prepare basic HR reports
  • Maintains HR Suite in Paycom as well as employee passwords
  • Maintains human resources information systems records and maintains confidentiality for all personnel files
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefit laws and regulations
  • Assist with 401K and payroll audits
  • Prepares tax documents and disclosures for compliance in regard to benefits and 401K plan
  • Remains in compliance with all legal and institutional requirements at all times
  • Demonstrate respect for employee privacy
  • Assist with miscellaneous projects and additional duties as required

Qualifications:



Education & Experience:


  • BS/BA in Business Administration or Human Resources Management
  • Previous Humans Resource Generalist experience (2-3 years)
  • Human Resources certifications preferred
  • Understanding employment laws and HR best practices


Skills/Competencies:


  • Attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; Paycom
  • Solid understanding of general human resources policies
  • Good organizational & time management skills
  • Desires to work as a team with a results driven approach
  • Aptitude in problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and people skills


Physical Demands:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear in order to exchange information. This is largely a sedentary role. Occasionally moves to access files, fax & copy machines. On occasions may lift up to 10 lbs.


Work Environment:


This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets.

Work Hours:


Monday through Friday - WFH options available 2 days a week
