Human Resources Generalist

Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
Location: New York, NY
Work Model: Hybrid (4 days in-office, 1 remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Generalist with 4–6 years of experience to support core HR operations and employee experience initiatives in a fast-paced, multi-state environment. This role partners with leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver effective HR processes and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition; conduct full-cycle recruitment: screen, evaluate, and interview candidates
  • Serve as a primary contact for employee questions on policies, procedures, and workplace matters
  • Support employee relations, including investigations, documentation, and resolution
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle (onboarding, changes, offboarding)
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
  • Administer and optimize HRIS (Paycom preferred), including reporting and workflows
  • Coordinate onboarding and new hire readiness with IT and hiring managers
  • Support performance management cycles and engagement initiatives
  • Partner with Finance, IT, and leadership on HR processes, reporting, and projects

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of HR generalist or related experience
  • Experience supporting multi-state employee populations
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • HRIS experience (Paycom a plus)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Experience in professional services, marketing, or production environments
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification
