Title: Human Resources Generalist

Reports To: SPS Director of Human Capital and Talent Development or designee

Essential Responsibilities

• Responsible for answering day-to-day employee inquiries through the SPS Human Resources Help Desk
• Assists with employee recruitment activities
• Performs new employee onboarding activity to include collecting documents and ensuring compliance with new hire requirements
• Responds to external requests for employment verification
• Completes necessary reporting to include unemployment and worker’s compensation
• Maintains personnel files of new and former employees
• Processes requests for employee leaves, to include FMLA
• Assists with annual HR activities to include salary notifications and training
• Assists with special projects as required
• Performs clerical functions as needed

Requirements

• Highly motivated and eager to learn
• Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively with varied populations
• Previous experience working in an office setting is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a public school setting is preferred.
• Displays a significant degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
• Proficient with Google/Microsoft Office applications
