We are looking for a dedicated Human Resources Manager to join our team in Bronx, New York. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term employment, offering an excellent opportunity for growth within the wholesale distribution industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing and HR compliance, as well as experience managing union benefits and unemployment notices.
Responsibilities:
• Process weekly payroll with attention to detail, including audits for union payroll compliance.
• Oversee employee benefits administration, ensuring timely enrollment and updates.
• Respond to unemployment notices and maintain compliance with labor regulations.
• Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and related processes.
• Conduct recruitment and manage the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to termination.
• Perform audits related to payroll, union compliance, and workers’ compensation.
• Ensure adherence to HR and payroll regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards.
• Manage commercial and auto insurance maintenance.
• Handle data entry tasks in accounting systems.
• Collaborate closely with the owner and oversee one direct report when applicable.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR and payroll functions.
• Proficiency in payroll software, particularly Paycom and I-Soft.
• Strong knowledge of union benefits and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to respond promptly to unemployment and labor notices.
• Familiarity with workers’ compensation processes and audits.
• Experience in managing employee benefits and HR compliance regulations.
• Solid skills in data entry and accounting system maintenance.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities to ensure smooth HR operations.
