Human Resources Intern

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Reports To: Senior Director of Human Resources
Eligible for Internship credit
Position Summary:
The Arc of Washington County is seeking a motivated individual interested in the Human Resource profession. The Human Resources Intern supports the HR Department in a myriad of areas. Primary focus will be assisting in the recruitment and on boarding process with secondary efforts in assisting in Human Resource functions – documentation, workers comp and training.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in Human Resources to gain hands-on experience in HR related functions within a mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with full-cycle recruitment for frontline DSP positions across multiple programs and sites
- Review resumes and screen applicants to assess basic qualifications
- Coordinate interviews and maintain interview scheduling
- Maintain and update the applicant tracking system
- Assist with onboarding paperwork and new hire documentation
- Communicate with applicants by phone and email throughout the hiring process
- Participate in HR team meetings and contribute to special projects
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:- Junior or Senior currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong interest in recruiting and HR operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Outgoing and comfortable speaking with a variety of people both by phone and in person
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must be able to work on-site in Hagerstown, MD
