Job Description

Riata Corporate Group is seeking a Human Resources Manager in its Dallas headquarters. This management services company supports several operating entities primarily in the energy and consumer goods sectors. As a smaller company, the HR professional will have responsibility for a variety of HR functional areas.

This is a hybrid position requiring the successful candidate to live in or near Dallas, TX. The HR Manager will be expected to work in the Dallas office while learning the business and gaining a thorough understanding of the various entities.

Essential Duties

  • Implement human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, federal and state employment law compliance, and labor relations.
  • Run talent acquisition process, including sourcing, testing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Work with broker and CFO to analyze annual benefit renewals for best coverage and cost options, present to management, and carry out and implement open enrollment to employees.
  • Review and process 401(k) distribution requests and monitor contribution changes.
  • Monitor changes in and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements regarding existing and new legislation, while enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
  • Assist employees with any questions regarding their employee benefits and company policy questions.
  • Work with TPA and auditors to review plans and ensure annual 401 (k) compliance for non-discrimination testing and annual audit.
  • Work with 5500 Tax Group and broker to ensure benefits plan is compliant with DOL.
  • Guide management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicate and enforce organization values.
  • Handle investigation and resolution of employee issues, concerns, and conflicts.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all employee records according to HIPPA standards.
  • Manage workers’ compensation: oversee payment scheduling and monthly reporting, monitor policies, ensure proper code assignments to employee positions, follow up on new and existing claims, and work with a broker on renewals.
  • Manage annual ACA/1095 reporting and reconciliation of benefits accounts by approving billing statements.
  • Perform exit interviews and off-boarding process with oversight of termination of benefits and payroll.
  • Monitor FMLA leave and compliance and COBRA elections, changes and terminations.
  • Oversee reconciliation of benefits accounts, approve billing statements, facilitate payment.
  • Follow up with workforce commissions regarding unemployment claims or requests for information.
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensure the accuracy of employee data in the payroll system, and facilitate necessary changes and updates in the payroll system.
  • Oversee year-end W-2’s, 1095 and accuracy of year-end wages.
  • Oversee Workers’ Compensation and General Liability audits.
  • Manage any benefits claims for current or previous employees.
  • 2 direct reports, including one regional HR and one HR/Payroll Administrator
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or related field
  • HR certification(s) preferred
  • 5+ years corporate HR management experience required. Small to mid-size corporate experience valued.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills; excellent organizational skills; excellent time management skills; and ability to work independently.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices and employee relations policies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
