We are looking for a hands-on HR Manager who can create scalable systems, ensure compliance, and drive accountability while keeping our culture strong.

Purpose of Role

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day human resources functions of the firm, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws. This role ensures the firm attracts, develops, and retains top talent while supporting a positive, professional workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

As our HR Manager, you will:

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and offer letters.
  • Partner with leadership to understand staffing needs and ensure timely, quality hires.
  • Design and run consistent onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Manage KPI tracking in PerformYard, coordinate and manage performance review cycles, and support accountability including write ups and PIPs
  • Administer compensation and benefits including raises, bonuses, and annual reviews
  • Support benefits, leave, and payroll administration with attention to accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure compliance across employee files, handbook updates, benefits, and multi state labor laws
  • Run employee surveys and deliver actionable insights to leadership
  • Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Partner with the Firm Administrator to coordinate operational needs that affect staff.
  • Provide reports and metrics (turnover, time-to-hire, engagement trends, etc.) to leadership.
  • Act as a resource for managers and team leads on HR best practices

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of HR experience with proven results in recruiting, compliance, and performance management
  • Experience in professional services preferred, ideally in a law firm or similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of employment law with multi-state compliance experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to build and implement HR systems while staying hands on
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with attorneys, staff, and executives
  • Certification: CCP, CBP, SHRM-CP, PHR, preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
