1. Payroll & Compensation Management
Objective: Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant salary processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end monthly payroll processing (salary, incentives, overtime, deductions).
- Validation of attendance, leave, and overtime data prior to payroll closure.
- Coordination with finance/accounts for salary disbursement and cost control.
- Management of statutory deductions and filings (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, gratuity where applicable).
- Issuance of payslips, Form 16, and salary certificates.
- Handling payroll-related employee queries and discrepancies.
- Maintaining confidentiality of compensation data.

2. Employee Grievance Handling & Employee Relations
Objective: Maintain a fair, respectful, and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for employee grievances and concerns.
- Investigate complaints related to conduct, harassment, performance, pay, or workplace issues.
- Ensure grievances are handled confidentially, objectively, and within defined timelines.
- Conduct disciplinary processes in line with company policy (show-cause notices, warnings, documentation).
- Facilitate conflict resolution between employees and management.
- Maintain proper grievance records and resolutions for audit and legal reference.

3. Talent Retention & Engagement
Objective: Reduce attrition and improve employee satisfaction and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement employee engagement initiatives (recognition, rewards, feedback forums).
- Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews; analyse attrition trends.
- Partner with leadership to develop retention strategies for key talent.
- Support career development, training, and succession planning.
- Oversee performance management cycles (goal setting, appraisals, increments).
- Promote a positive organisational culture aligned with company values.

4. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
Objective: Attract and hire the right talent efficiently and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workforce planning in collaboration with department heads.
- Drafting and posting job descriptions aligned to business needs.
- Screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and managing candidate experience.
- Conducting or coordinating reference and background checks.
- Managing offer letters, negotiations, and onboarding processes.
- Maintaining recruitment metrics (time-to-hire, cost-per-hire).
- Building talent pipelines and employer branding initiatives.

5. HR Compliance & Policy Management
Objective: Ensure full legal and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, employment acts, and statutory requirements.
- Draft, implement, and update HR policies, employee handbook, and SOPs.
- Maintain employee records as per legal and audit standards.
- Manage statutory audits, labour inspections, and filings.
- Ensure compliance with POSH, workplace safety, and code of conduct.
- Keep management informed of regulatory changes impacting HR practices.

6. HR Operations & Reporting (Supporting Role)
Objective: Enable smooth HR functioning and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain HRMIS and employee data accuracy.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly HR reports (headcount, attrition, payroll costs).
- Support management with HR insights and recommendations.
- Coordinate with external vendors (payroll, recruiters, training partners).
