Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager plays a critical role in shaping a positive, high-performing workplace culture within a fast-paced construction environment. This position is responsible for overseeing all HR functions with Rylind Construction, Big Rock Construction Group, and Rylind Traffic Services, with a strong emphasis on employee engagement, retention, and workforce satisfaction across field and office teams. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between leadership and employees, ensuring that all team members feel valued, supported, and motivated to contribute to the overall companies’ success.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Design and implement comprehensive employee engagement strategies tailored to both field crews and office staff
- Lead initiatives that promote a strong, inclusive, and safety-focused company culture
- Conduct regular employee surveys, analyze feedback, and develop actionable improvement plans
- Organize team-building events, recognition programs, and morale-boosting activities
- Partner with leadership to foster transparent communication and trust across all levels of the organization
Talent Management & Retention
- Develop and execute retention strategies specific to the construction workforce
- Oversee onboarding programs that effectively integrate new hires into company culture and operations
- Create career development pathways and training opportunities for employees
- Monitor turnover trends and implement proactive solutions
Performance Management
- Manage and improve performance review processes, ensuring alignment with company goals
- Train managers and supervisors on effective feedback, coaching, and employee development practices
- Support disciplinary actions and conflict resolution with a focus on fairness and consistency
Recruitment & Workforce Planning
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations and applicable management to forecast workforce needs
- Oversee full-cycle recruiting, with a focus on attracting skilled laborers and qualified professionals
- Promote employer branding that highlights company culture and engagement
Compliance & HR Operations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations
- Maintain HR policies and procedures relevant to the construction industry
- Oversee benefits administration, and employee records
- Support safety programs in partnership with operations leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
- 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in construction or a similar field-based industry
- Strong background in employee engagement, culture development, and retention strategies
- Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with both field employees and executive leadership
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
