Position Overview

The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This role supports business needs and ensures the implementation of HR strategies aligned with company objectives while maintaining full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

Key Responsibilities1. Recruiting & Staffing

  • Develop and post job descriptions for new positions across all departments
  • Conduct interviews, coordinate hiring processes, and facilitate candidate selection
  • Manage departmental staffing needs and optimize workforce allocation
  • Ensure Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance throughout the recruitment process, including adherence to anti-discrimination laws
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and recruitment records

2. Compensation & Benefits Management

  • Design and manage competitive salary structures and wage increase policies
  • Administer benefits programs including health insurance, 401(k) retirement plans, paid time off, and other employee benefits
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) regarding work hours, overtime pay, and wage classifications
  • Oversee prevailing wage compliance for applicable contracts and projects
  • Manage certified payroll reporting and documentation requirements
  • Monitor market trends to maintain competitive compensation packages

3. Compliance & Policy Management

  • Develop, update, and maintain the Employee Handbook and company policy documentation
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations, and immigration requirements
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation for audits and legal compliance
  • Stay current with changing employment legislation and implement necessary policy adjustments
  • Manage workers' compensation claims and safety program compliance

4. Employee Relations

  • Address and resolve employee concerns, conflicts, and complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Investigate and manage cases involving harassment, discrimination, or workplace disputes
  • Oversee termination and disciplinary procedures while minimizing legal risk
  • Foster positive company culture and maintain employee morale
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze turnover trends

5. Training & Performance Management

  • Design and implement new employee orientation programs
  • Develop training initiatives including leadership development, safety training, and job-specific skill enhancement
  • Create and administer performance evaluation systems
  • Coach managers on effective performance management techniques
  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate professional development opportunities

6. Strategic HR & Executive Support

  • Collaborate with senior leadership on organizational restructuring, workforce planning, and retention strategies
  • Build scalable HR systems that support company growth stages
  • Provide data-driven insights on workforce analytics and HR metrics
  • Lead change management initiatives and organizational development projects
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management on employee-related matters

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • years of progressive HR management experience
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, FLSA, EEO, OSHA, and prevailing wage regulations
  • Experience with certified payroll requirements and compliance reporting
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR/SPHR certification preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
