Human Resources & Payroll Administrator

Location: Primarily Remote (occasional on-site meetings, training, and collaboration in Portland, OR)
Schedule: 30 hours per week, with the opportunity to pick up additional hours (up to 40) based on business needs

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Human Resources & Payroll Administrator to join our small but growing team. This role is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys a mix of independent work and collaboration, thrives on accuracy, and wants to grow with an evolving organization.

This position focuses heavily on payroll and benefits administration for multiple entities in Oregon and Washington, with additional responsibilities supporting general HR and administrative functions. It’s a great opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of their work, improve processes, and help shape the foundation of a growing company.

What You’ll Do

  • Process accurate and timely payroll on a semi-monthly basis for multiple entities in Oregon and Washington
  • Manage employee benefits administration including enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and payroll regulations
  • Maintain HRIS and benefits data integrity; conduct audits and reconciliations
  • Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
  • Support HR processes as needed
  • Assist with reporting and compliance documentation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve HR and payroll processes

What We’re Looking For

  • Relevant experience in payroll and benefits administration (multi-state experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of wage, hour, and employment laws in Oregon and Washington
  • Proficiency with HRIS/HCM and payroll systems; strong Excel skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive information
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to adapt in a changing environment
  • Comfortable working remotely and communicating across teams
  • Someone who values teamwork, integrity, and doing the right thing even when things aren’t perfect
