HR & Payroll Director (Part-Time or Full-Time)

Comp: $60,000–$110,000 DOE (prorated if PT)

Bonfire Burritos is a growing Colorado brand in both QSR restaurants and food manufacturing with four locations in Arvada, Golden(2) and Wheat Ridge. We run fast, keep things human, and skip the stiff corporate vibes. We’re looking for an HR & Payroll pro who loves clean processes, accurate payrolls, and taking care of people. If you’re comfortable building structure without making it rigid, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll do

• Own payroll end-to-end: weekly/biweekly payroll runs, audits, adjustments, off-cycle checks, and year-end (W-2s, 1095s in coordination).
• Implement & organize Paylocity: workflows, onboarding, time & labor, benefits, document libraries, automations, and manager self-service.
• Keep us compliant: FLSA, I-9/E-Verify, wage & hour, CO requirements (FAMLI, SecureSavings, paid sick & safe time), ACA tracking, COBRA coordination with brokers, and record retention.
• Benefits support: enrollments, changes, eligibility audits, open enrollment logistics, and vendor/broker coordination.
• HR operations: onboarding/offboarding, handbook/policy upkeep, employee files, leaves & accommodations routing, employee inquiries, manager coaching on basics.
• Reporting & hygiene: maintain clean employee data, build simple dashboards, and surface insights (turnover, headcount, labor cost signals).

What makes you a great fit

• Must have: prior payroll and core HR experience (multi-location hourly teams a plus).
• Huge difference maker: Paylocity administration experience (implementation or major optimization).
• Comfortable with time & labor, tip/shift differentials, garnishments, and multi-rate scenarios.
• Solid handle on Colorado HR/payroll rules (or you ramp fast and document as you go).
• Organized, detail-driven, and steady under pressure—you like checklists and closing loops.
• Clear, kind communicator who can translate policy into plain English.
• Bilingual (English & Spanish)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in restaurants, hospitality, or food manufacturing.
• Exposure to ACA measurement methods, EEO-1, and basic HR analytics.
• Familiarity partnering with brokers/PEOs/benefits admins.

Schedule & location

• Hybrid: 50–75% remote + on-site time in Golden, CO for team touchpoints, trainings, audits, and sensitive items.
• Part-time or full-time: we’ll shape the weekly cadence together.

Compensation & perks

• $60,000–$110,000 annually DOE (prorated if PT).
