Job Summary: The Recruiter plays a critical role in identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent for Flint Community Schools. This position supports the district’s strategic goals by developing and implementing effective recruiting strategies, building strong relationships, and managing the full recruitment cycle. The Recruiter serves as a key partner to school leaders and staff, ensuring that all vacancies are filled with high qualified candidates in a timely manner.
Essential Functions (May include, but not limited to):
1. Manage the full recruitment cycle, including sourcing, interviewing, selection, onboarding, and offboarding.
2. Collaborate with administrators to understand present and future staffing needs and hiring criteria.
3. Develop and maintain accurate job descriptions and qualifications.
4. Create and implement cost-effective, innovative sourcing strategies.
5. Build and maintain pipelines of passive and active candidates using job boards, networking, social media, referrals, career fairs, professional associations, and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
6. Maintain strong relationships with candidates and potential talent pools.
7. Plan, coordinate, and participate in recruitment events.
8. Pre-screen candidates through resume review, credential verification, and initial phone screens.
9. Conduct behavioral, and skill-based interviews to assess candidate qualifications.
10. Partner with department supervisors to review candidate status, interview feedback, and hiring decisions.
11. Provide timely communication and feedback to all candidates through the recruitment process.
12. Present job offers and negotiates salaries when appropriate.
13. Support new hire onboarding and internal transfers to ensure smooth transitions.
14. Manage and optimize the ATS, including resume management, requisition tracking, and reporting.
15. Oversee recruitment related content on the district’s website and social media platforms.
16. Collaborate with staff to design recruitment marketing materials and campaigns.
17. Develop standardized interview guides for various positions.
18. Research and recommend creative retention strategies to support long-term staffing needs.
19. Deliver recruitment and HR-related training programs.
20. Track and report recruitment metrics and productivity.
21. Perform other related during as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years job-related experience in HR office or similar work with increasing level of responsibility required. Previous experience in recruitment preferred. Previous experience in public education, or school district administration preferred.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Strong background in candidate sourcing, evaluation, and hiring. Experience with onboarding and orientation programs. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and relationship building. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online recruiting platforms. Regular, reliable, and punctual in person attendance required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,760.00 - $57,575.00 per year
