With more than 900 employees nationwide, we’re growing quickly and looking for an HR Specialist to join our Human Resources team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career who wants to build experience across multiple HR functions while making a real impact.
The opportunity will be local to the Huntsville AL area. Compensation range is $22 to $30 an hour depending on experience.
As an HR Specialist, you’ll be a key support partner for both employees and managers, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across HR and Talent Acquisition. You’ll:
Serve as a first point of contact for general HR questions, ensuring employees get timely and helpful support.
Coordinate background checks, drug screens, employment verifications, and onboarding tasks for new hires.
Support HR programs and projects, including policy updates, compliance audits, and reporting needs.
Respond to unemployment claims and assist managers with documentation.
Help keep Magnolia River compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Jump in on HR team projects and initiatives — no two days will be exactly alike.
An associate degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
At least 6 months of HR, administrative, or related experience.
Knowledge of employment laws and HR processes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with HRIS is a plus.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
A collaborative, service-focused mindset — and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus (or the desire to obtain one)
