Position description:

The HR specialist will lead Human Resources matters extensively as general HR. This includes activities such as Recruiting, Benefit & Compensation, Training & Appraisal, HR administration, and HRIS management.

Job Responsibilities:


1. Recruiting:

  • Lead the recruitment and hiring process by working closely with Head of Administration, hiring HoD and managers.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, making hiring recommendations, offering package & employment contract and onboarding.
  • Ensure the company attracts a diverse pool of qualified candidates through various recruiting channels (job posting through online recruiting websites/social media, engagement with 3rd party professional agents, career fairs, etc.).
  • Maintain a smooth onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a positive candidate experience and seamless integration into the company.
  • Arrange necessary onboarding preparation such as visa, accommodation, as applicable.
  • Provide induction training & coordinate workplace/necessaries set-up for new joiners.

2. Benefits & Compensation:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance (ex. Mediclaim, Accident, Life insurance) & travel insurance, statutory & voluntary benefits (ex. gratuity, provident fund, Shop and Entertainment registration, Professional tax, Labour welfare fund) and other employee perks.
  • Regularly assess, benchmark, and recommend the adjustment of the company's benefits & compensation structures against industry standards to ensure competitiveness.

3. Training & Appraisal:

  • Develop and implement employee training programs to enhance skills and knowledge across the organization.
  • Manage the performance appraisal process, working with appraisers (goal-setting, feedback, and rating/calibration)

4. HR Administration:

  • Administer accurate attendance record (leave & work hour)
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws.
  • Maintain and update HR policies & ensure in line with current legal requirements and best practices.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day HR functions, such as responding to employee inquiries and resolving HR-related issues.
  • Administer payroll with F&A.

5. HRIS Management:

  • Oversee and manage the company's HR Information System (HRIS) for employee data/record, leave/attendance management, and appraisal.
  • If any, initiate & manage development of HRIS and introduction of the new HRIS project with IT & security.
  • Analyze HR data.


6. Others

  • Coordinate with internal & external parties for execution of HR matters (including ONESEA Singapore HR, outsourcing HR service providers)
  • Support ONESEA’s group HR development
  • Performs other duties as required.




Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in Human Resources role
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and good writing style


Additional desired qualifications:

  • Working experience in a ship management company & hiring experience for ex-mariner employees
  • HR manager experience
  • Working in multinational environment and business communication with overseas office
