Job Summary:
The Human Resources Specialist supports the HR department in various administrative tasks, including pre-hire processes, onboarding, and daily HR operations. Acting as a key point of contact for employees, this role assists with general HR inquiries, training, employee file management, and maintaining HR systems. The Specialist works closely with employees, leadership, and the HR team to ensure seamless and efficient HR operations. As our organization grows, we seek candidates who can work independently, take initiative, and adapt to change. This onsite role is based at our Warren, MI location, but will support our other locations virtually. While HR experience is preferred, motivated candidates without experience are welcome to apply.

  • Pay: $22-$25/hour (depending on experience)

Job Duties:
  • Provide first-line support for employee HR inquiries (policies, benefits, payroll) and escalate more complex questions to senior staff.
  • Assist with new hire onboarding, including background checks, documentation, and orientation support.
  • Help maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS system.
  • Support payroll and compliance tasks by gathering information, checking timecards, and assisting senior HR team members.
  • Assist with training tracking in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Help coordinate employee engagement programs and recognition initiatives.
  • Provide general HR administrative support (employment verifications, ticket responses, scheduling, documentation).
  • Partner closely with senior HR staff to learn and gradually expand your responsibilities.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Previous HR experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field experience preferred
  • Experience within a Hospital and/or Healthcare environment preferred, not required
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft 365.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Friendly, empathetic, and eager to learn, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Is aware of standards and performs in accordance with them
