Job Summary:
The internship role as the Human Resources Staff Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support and performing a variety of technical Human Resources functions. These functions include administering hiring and on-boarding functions of employment, preparing and maintaining employment records and other human resources documentation, distributing human resources communications as appropriate, and performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by Management.

Season Dates: May - August 2026
Pay: $18.00/hr.
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:
  • Creating a positive first impression for potential candidates and continue to provide a high level of service to all employees.
  • Handling data related to employment application process, reference checks, I-9 documentation, and other personnel data.
  • Processing confidential and/or sensitive information related to seasonal employment. Keeping all information viewed as confidential. Refraining from discussing or viewing confidential information unless necessary.
  • Communicating with both applicants and current employees via telephone or e-mail.
  • Interviewing and hiring for entry level positions. Effectively “sell” the Yellowstone experience to potential employees.
  • Extensive contact with incoming employees; involved with the check-in process to complete necessary forms and offer accurate directions and information regarding the Park, the Company and job specifics.
  • Working with ICIMS applicant tracking system to screen applicants, make offers, and onboard new employees.
  • Answering phone calls in the office; receiving calls, promptly inquiring about the nature of the call to insure correct handling, ability to work under pressure and maintain courteous handling of caller during high call volume times, transferring calls and/or taking accurate messages as directed.
  • Effectively communicate via email. Respond in a timely manner with professional courtesy.
  • Contribute to a friendly and optimistic work environment by developing teamwork and cooperation with co-workers and supervisors.
Qualifications:
  • General business communication skills - related to telephone and email etiquette professional coworker/employee interaction and written correspondence.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills. Especially in regards to dealing with potential employees current employees and coworkers tactfully and professionally.
  • Ability to exercise patience while working with a variety of personalities.
  • Basic business administration skills - typing, filing, use of office equipment.
  • Possess a proactive approach to accomplishing work in an efficient manner while ensuring a strong attention to detail.
  • In-depth knowledge or ability to quickly learn park housing facilities, company procedures, and departmental procedures
  • Flexibility; able to adjust to changing needs and work pace of the office at different times of the year.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn the ICIMS applicant tracking system and Lawson data system.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with employee information
  • Computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel required.
Physical Requirements include:
  • Ability to stand, bend and stretch for long periods, as when filing.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time, as when answering phones, doing computer work or processing new employees, sometimes up to five hours.
