DEFINITION:
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of human resources activities in support of assigned substitute, classified and certificated personnel functions and transactions; serve as an informational resource to employees, applicants and the public regarding assigned personnel functions; establish and maintain personnel records and files.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and two years’ clerical experience including frequent public contact and work with human resources functions involving the recruitment, screening and processing of new employees.
REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:
General principles, techniques, procedures, and terminology involved in the recruitment, screening, selection, classification, compensation, and processing of personnel; Human resources office functions, practices, and procedures; General operations, policies, and objectives relating to human resources activities; Record-keeping and report preparation techniques; Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary; Modern office procedures and record-keeping techniques; Oral and written communication skills; Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy; Operation of a computer and assigned software; Telephone techniques and etiquette; Data control procedures and data entry operations; Mathematic calculations.
Ability to:
Perform a variety of human resources activities in support of assigned substitute, classified, and certificated personnel functions and transactions; Serve as an informational resource to employees, applicants, and the public regarding personnel functions; Learn, interpret, apply, and explain laws, codes, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; Establish and maintain personnel records and files; Process a variety of personnel transactions such as new hires, promotions, transfers, salary adjustments, reassignments, terminations, change of status, anniversary, and longevity increments; Distribute, screen, and process various personnel-related forms, applications, and documents; Prepare and distribute vacancy notices, announcements, and postings for job openings; Schedule, arrange, and notify applicants of tests, interviews, and processing appointments; Compose correspondence and written materials independently or from oral instructions; Answer telephones and greet visitors and the public courteously; Operate a computer and other office equipment as assigned; Meet schedules and time lines; Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others; Maintain personnel records and documents in a secure and confidential manner; Type or input data accurately and at an acceptable rate of speed.

Pay: $5,140.00 - $6,583.00 per month
