HVAC & Chiller Technician

The HVAC & Chiller Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems and chiller units in commercial, industrial, or residential facilities. The role ensures optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety standards, providing a comfortable and safe environment for building occupants.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Install new HVAC systems, chillers, and associated components according to design specifications.
• Commission chillers and HVAC systems, including start-up, testing, and calibration.
• Ensure proper installation of sensors, controllers, pumps, and ducting systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on chillers, air handling units, VRF/VRV systems, and cooling towers.
• Clean, lubricate, and replace worn parts, belts, filters, and refrigerants as required.
• Maintain logs of maintenance activities and system performance data.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, valves, motors, and sensors.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns to restore system functionality.
• Monitor HVAC and chiller performance to ensure energy efficiency.
• Adjust system parameters for optimal temperature, pressure, and flow rates.
• Recommend system upgrades or improvements based on operational analysis.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work closely with facility management and other technical teams.
• Report recurring issues and suggest preventive measures.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an HVAC or Chiller Technician.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
