HVAC Draftsman

Job Summary

AWS Distribution is seeking a skilled HVAC Draftsman to join our engineering team. The role involves creating precise 2D and 3D layouts for HVAC systems, including ducting, piping, and mechanical equipment, while ensuring seamless coordination with other disciplines. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, proficiency in AutoCAD, and experience with GCC/UAE projects.

Key Responsibilities:

· Create 2D and 3D HVAC layouts using AutoCAD

· Develop ducting, piping, and equipment layouts based on engineering designs

· Produce shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings

· Work closely with mechanical engineers, architects, electrical, and plumbing teams

· Ensure HVAC systems do not clash with structural elements or other MEP services

· Assist in duct sizing, pipe sizing, and airflow calculations

· Interpret engineering specifications and apply them accurately in drawings

· Incorporate site measurements and update drawings to reflect actual conditions

· Ensure drawings comply with ASHRAE standards, local codes, and project specification

· Prepare detailed layouts for AHUs, FCUs, chillers, exhaust systems, etc.

· Develop sectional views, schematics, and installation details

Requirements:

• Diploma, Bachelor’s, or certification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• 2–4 years of experience in HVAC drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong technical knowledge of local authority requirements and Standards.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, codes, and project drawings.
• Good coordination, communication, and documentation skills.
• GCC/UAE project experience required.
