Join our dynamic team as an HVAC Central Plant Operator, specializing in managing and maintaining large-scale chiller plants within commercial facilities. Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate central plant equipment such as chillers, boilers, refrigeration systems, and associated controls to maintain desired environmental conditions.
- Conduct routine inspections of HVAC/R systems using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools like ohmmeters to troubleshoot issues promptly.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical components, including pumps, valves, piping, and refrigeration units, ensuring reliable operation.
- Respond swiftly to system alarms or malfunctions by diagnosing problems through schematics and technical procedures; execute repairs or coordinate with service technicians as needed.
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and incident reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational protocols.
- Assist with plumbing and appliance repairs related to HVAC systems; support welding or other mechanical repairs when necessary.
- Support property maintenance efforts by ensuring HVAC systems operate efficiently, including air conditioning units and ammonia refrigeration systems.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in HVAC design, construction, and field service operations.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams related to HVAC/R systems.
- Hands-on experience with refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), boilers, plumbing, and appliance repair.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting.
- Skilled in equipment repair, welding techniques, and general maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of property maintenance procedures specific to commercial facilities; familiarity with HVAC/R safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license for site visits or equipment transport.
- Experience working with service technicians on complex system repairs; capable of understanding HVAC/R system design principles.
