HVAC Maintenance Technician

Duties

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, refrigeration units, boilers, and related mechanical equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend lifespan.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC/R systems using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to identify electrical or mechanical faults.
• Conduct service calls for HVAC, appliance repair, plumbing issues, or refrigeration malfunctions in commercial or residential settings.
• Install, modify, or upgrade HVAC components and systems following HVAC design specifications and safety standards.
• Operate specialized tools including welding equipment and field service machinery to repair or replace damaged parts.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system performance logs for compliance and future reference.
• Assist with property maintenance tasks such as air conditioning servicing, boiler repairs, or ammonia refrigeration system management to ensure continuous operation.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in construction environments or property maintenance settings.
• Proven service technician experience with HVAC/R systems, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing, and appliance repair.
• Ability to read schematics and interpret technical diagrams for troubleshooting complex systems.
• Familiarity with HVAC design principles and the installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning equipment.
• Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and equipment repair.
• Experience with welding techniques necessary for metal repairs or component fabrication.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating ,drivers preferred for transportation between sites. Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
