Responsibilities
- Perform refrigerant line brazing using hand tools and welding techniques to connect HVAC system components accurately and securely.
- Read and interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical diagrams to execute installations and repairs effectively.
- Assist with HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair, including refrigeration units, boilers, and building automation systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and electrical testers.
- Conduct equipment troubleshooting and repair to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably.
- Collaborate with service technicians on field service projects involving HVAC/R systems, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and appliance repair.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports, repair logs, and schematic references.
Skills
- Construction experience combined with a solid background in HVAC system installation and repair.
- Service technician experience with a focus on refrigeration, air conditioning, and mechanical systems repair.
- Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and HVAC design plans accurately.
- Strong mechanical knowledge including plumbing, electrical systems, building automation systems, and boiler operation.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, pipe cutters, soldering equipment, welding tools, and ohmmeters.
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus for specialized projects involving hazardous refrigerants.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; familiarity with <PERSON> driver requirements preferred.
- EPA certification for refrigerant handling; knowledge of HVAC/R safety protocols is essential.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients during service visits or installations.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
