HVAC Service Technician

Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Year-Round Work
On-Call: One Saturday every 5 weeks (rotating schedule)
Pay: Competitive pay based on experience

Job Summary

Jim Dickerson Co. is a family-owned and operated company — not corporate owned — looking for an experienced and dependable HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. We provide year-round work servicing residential and light commercial HVAC systems.

The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates well with customers, and can confidently diagnose and repair HVAC equipment in the field.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits
• Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections
• Troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant, airflow, and mechanical issues
• Install replacement parts and equipment as needed
• Explain system findings and repair options clearly to customers
• Complete service tickets and documentation accurately using company software
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
• Follow company procedures, safety standards, and applicable codes

Qualifications

• EPA Section 608 Certification Required
• HVAC service experience preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and use HVAC diagnostic tools
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and mechanical areas
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently

Preferred Experience

• Residential HVAC service experience
• Heat pumps, gas furnaces, air conditioning systems, and ductless systems
• Smart thermostats and HVAC controls
