HVAC Technician

Responsibilities and Duties:

The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems within the organization. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing HVAC problems, and ensuring the efficient operation of HVAC systems to maintain optimal comfort and air quality levels. The Technician will work under the supervision of the HVAC Supervisor or Facilities Manager to support facility maintenance goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Install new heating, ventilation, air conditioning, Chillers and refrigeration systems as needed.

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation and compliance with safety and environmental regulation

Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment malfunctions, including air handlers, compressors, and cooling towers.

Replace or repair defective components and parts to restore HVAC systems to proper operation.

Test HVAC systems for proper functioning and perform necessary adjustments for optimal performance.

Monitor HVAC systems and operations to identify issues and implement corrective actions.

Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements while performing HVAC work.

Ensure compliance with HVAC codes, standards, and regulations.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.

Document equipment changes, repairs, and modifications for reference purposes.

Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and departments to ensure coordinated efforts and efficient operations.

Provide technical assistance and guidance to other team members as needed.

Respond promptly to HVAC service requests from building occupants or facility management.

Communicate effectively with customers to explain HVAC issues and solutions.

Recommend improvements to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and performance of HVAC systems.

Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements in HVAC maintenance and repair.

Requirements and skills:

Proven experience as an HVAC Technician or similar role.

Diploma or certification in HVAC technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and components.

Ability to read HVAC drawings, diagrams, and technical manuals.

Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards for HVAC systems.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
