Position Summary
The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems throughout the facility. This role ensures residents, staff, and visitors enjoy a safe and comfortable environment by keeping all systems in top working condition and compliant with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, boilers, chillers, and refrigeration units

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain accurate service records

Monitor and adjust systems to maintain proper temperature, humidity, and air quality

Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and state/federal regulations

Respond promptly to service requests and emergency repairs

Coordinate with facility leadership to minimize disruptions and downtime

Support general maintenance tasks as needed to keep the building operating smoothly

Maintain inventory of HVAC tools, materials, and replacement parts
Qualifications & Skills

High school diploma or GED required

EPA Refrigeration Certification (Type I and II or Universal) required

HVAC certification or technical training from an accredited program preferred

Minimum of 3 years of HVAC experience (healthcare or commercial facility preferred)

Strong knowledge of system diagnostics, controls, and repair techniques

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals

Excellent problem-solving and time management skills

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a variety of indoor/outdoor environments
