HVAC Technician III

Major Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical components of HVAC systems
• Perform routine preventative maintenance
• Respond to emergency service requests
• Perform all tasks independently
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

Minimum Job Requirements

• Education: High school Diploma
• HVAC School: 200 Hours Minimum
80 hours of continuing education and/or pass the NATE Service (CHP-5) certification test

Certification / License

• Valid current driver's license and driving record that meets company standards required
• Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate

Work Experience

• 150 Electrical Code hours, 6000 work hours
• Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
• Willing to work nights and weekends on a rotating on-call team to respond to emergency calls 24/7
• Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and system controls
• Must have knowledge of HVAC systems and be able to troubleshoot and service commercial equipment under 10 tons
• Capable of daily travel to the job site(s) with an independent work structure
• Professional communication skills
• Ability to read and understand wiring schematics, diagnostic skills on basic refrigeration and electronic control circuits utilizing the latest monitoring tools and dexterity to repair field problems
• Ability to provide accurate and timely documentation, reporting and commentary, which accurately reflect field conditions
• Basic computer skills required
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
