Hybrid Real Estate Bookkeeper (Independent & Direct Reporting)

The OpportunityA local real estate owner in Orange, CT, is looking for a sharp, independent Bookkeeper to take full ownership of the financial records for a portfolio of real estate properties. This is a "no-red-tape" position. You will work directly with the owner to ensure our books are accurate, transparent, and tax-ready.This role offers the best of both worlds: the flexibility of working from home, with weekly or bi-monthly in-person meetings to review reports and sync on high-level strategy.

What You’ll Do

• Full-Cycle Property Bookkeeping: Manage all financial records specifically for our real estate entities using QuickBooks Online or Xero.
• PM Platform Oversight: Log into Buildium or AppFolio to reconcile monthly owner statements, verify repair invoices, and track rental income.
• The "Detective" Work: We need someone who enjoys matching deposits to units and ensuring that security deposits and capital improvements are handled correctly.
• Weekly or Bi-Monthly In-Person Sync: Meet once a week at our Orange, CT office (approx. 30–60 minutes) to go over reports, answer "open item" questions, and hand off any physical documentation.

Requirements

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
