Job Summary

The Hydraulic Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting hydraulic systems, cylinders, pumps, valves, and associated equipment used throughout steel plant operations. The role ensures reliable functioning of hydraulic machinery critical to production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance for hydraulic systems across the plant.
  • Diagnose faults in pumps, valves, cylinders, manifolds, hoses, and hydraulic circuits.
  • Perform dismantling, repairing, overhauling, and reassembling of hydraulic components.
  • Test hydraulic pressures, flow rates, and system performance.
  • Replace seals, filters, hoses, and worn components as needed.
  • Support shutdown and breakdown activities to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Maintain accurate service reports and maintenance logs.
  • Follow all safety procedures while working with high-pressure systems.

Requirements

  • ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hydraulic maintenance experience in steel plants or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic circuits, troubleshooting techniques, and repair tools.
  • Ability to read hydraulic diagrams and interpret system drawings.
  • Experience with presses, shears, hydraulic power packs, and mobile equipment hydraulics is preferred.
  • Must be physically fit and comfortable working in hot industrial areas.
