Hygiene Officer

Monitor and enforce hygiene and sanitation standards across all departments.

Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and work areas to identify hygiene risks and non-compliance.

Develop and implement cleaning schedules, sanitation programs, and pest control procedures.

Train staff on hygiene best practices, food safety, and personal hygiene requirements.

Maintain records of hygiene audits, cleaning logs, and corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, or other relevant food safety standards.

Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure that cleaning equipment and materials are properly maintained and available.

Investigate hygiene-related incidents or complaints and implement corrective actions.

Liaise with external auditors and health inspectors during inspections or certification processes.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement in hygiene and safety standards.

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Environmental Health, Microbiology, or a related field.

Certification in Food Safety, HACCP, or Occupational Health and Safety is an advantage.

Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a hygiene, sanitation, or quality control role (preferably in food production, hospitality, or healthcare).

Strong knowledge of sanitation standards, cleaning chemicals, and hygiene practices.

Excellent communication, observation, and reporting skills.

Attention to detail and ability to enforce compliance diplomatically.

May require working in production, kitchen, or clinical areas.

Involves exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, and temperature variations.

Requires wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
