Job Description – Import Documentation Executive
- Stay updated on current customs regulations and import-related policies.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international import laws.
- Obtain and verify all import-related documents to avoid errors or compliance issues.
- Identify and flag missing documents or discrepancies related to customs requirements.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely import documentation for customs clearance.
- Draft and manage duty exemption documents for applicable import processes.
- Oversee all import procedures and associated paperwork.
- Manage customs documentation for the clearing and forwarding of imported goods.
- Coordinate with clearing agents for timely goods clearance at the port of arrival.
- Liaise with shipping companies for updates on import consignments.
- Coordinate with port authorities for vessel handling and cargo unloading.
- Monitor and ensure the smooth movement of consignments to the final delivery point.
- Maintain proper records of import documentation, such as licenses, certificates, and customs bonds.
- Share daily status reports with the reporting manager.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders including Clients, Customs Authorities, Shipping Lines, Ports/ICDs/CFSs, and Internal Departments.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by senior management related to import operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1.5–2 years of experience in import documentation, customs clearance, or freight forwarding.
- Strong knowledge of Indian customs regulations and international import compliance procedures.
- Proficiency in handling and preparing Bill of Entry, invoice, packing list, COO, HSN codes, etc.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments/documents simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Skilled in MS Office, Excel, internet use, and email handling.
- Adaptability to learn new systems and documentation tools.
- A proactive and customer-focused attitude.
- Team player with a collaborative work approach.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
