The Manager – Import will be responsible for managing and supervising all import-related operations for the football manufacturing company. This role involves handling end-to-end import activities including planning, coordination, documentation, shipment tracking, customs clearance, and compliance with national and international trade regulations. The Manager will ensure that all imported materials, machinery, and components required for production are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with company and legal standards.
The position requires close coordination with various internal departments such as Procurement, PPC, Production, QA/QC, Finance, and Store to align import schedules with production needs. The Manager will prepare, verify, and manage all import documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, insurance documents, and letters of credit. They will also liaise with banks for LC opening and payments, as well as with clearing agents and shipping lines to ensure timely and efficient customs clearance and delivery of goods to the factory.
A key part of the role is to monitor shipment progress, negotiate freight rates, and manage logistics partners to minimize import-related costs such as freight, demurrage, or detention. The Manager will maintain accurate records of all imports both in the ERP system and in physical files, ensuring proper documentation for audits, duty drawback claims, and customs compliance. The role also involves preparing regular import status reports, shipment tracking summaries, and cost analyses for management review.
The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of import policies, customs procedures, and SROs issued by FBR, along with a good understanding of LC and payment processes. They should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or International Trade, with at least 5–7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or export-oriented industry—preferably in the sports goods or football sector. Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills are essential, along with proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office.
The Manager – Import must demonstrate a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously. They will play a critical role in ensuring cost efficiency, timely availability of imported materials, and compliance with all import-related regulations to support smooth and uninterrupted production operations
