Position- Incharge Nurse-ICU/Critical Care
Requirement of Qualification and experience :
- Education: GNM/ B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing (preferably in Critical Care or Medical-Surgical Nursing).
- Registration: Valid registration with State Nursing Council.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years and above of clinical experience, with at least 2–3 years in ICU/Critical Care.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS certification Preferred.
The ICU In-Charge Nurse is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and supervision of nursing care within the Intensive Care Unit. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based patient care through effective leadership, clinical expertise, staff management, and adherence to hospital protocols and standards.
- Oversee and coordinate patient care activities in the ICU to ensure safe and efficient care delivery.
- Monitor critically ill patients, assess their needs, and ensure timely intervention and escalation to physicians when necessary.
- Supervise and assist nursing staff in administering medications, performing procedures, and using advanced ICU equipment (ventilators, infusion pumps, monitors, etc.).
- Ensure proper documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and patient progress in medical records.
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and NABH/JCI standards.
- Participate in daily clinical rounds with doctors and multidisciplinary teams to discuss patient care plans.
- Lead, guide, and support ICU nursing staff to maintain a high standard of patient care.
- Prepare and manage nursing duty rosters, ensuring adequate staffing at all times.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs of ICU nurses.
- Handle disciplinary and grievance issues within the nursing team as per hospital policies.
- Coordinate with the Nursing Superintendent and Medical Officers for smooth ICU operations.
- Ensure availability, maintenance, and calibration of all ICU equipment and instruments.
- Maintain adequate stock of drugs, consumables, and emergency supplies.
- Verify and ensure proper handover of patient care and equipment during shift changes.
- Maintain records related to patient admissions, discharges, mortality, and incident reports.
- Participate in budgeting and resource allocation for the ICU.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and nursing protocols.
- Implement and monitor infection prevention and control measures.
- Conduct audits (nursing care, documentation, equipment, medication administration) periodically.
- Participate in accreditation activities (NABH/JCI) and ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Maintain confidentiality and patient rights at all times.
- Conduct induction and continuous nursing education programs for ICU staff.
- Train nursing staff in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), basic life support (BLS), and critical care procedures.
- Organize case presentations, morbidity/mortality discussions, and skill enhancement workshops.
- Encourage and support nursing staff participation in research and quality initiatives.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.

- Proficiency in ICU equipment and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick, sound decisions.
- Knowledge of hospital management software and EMR systems preferred.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
