Lead a group of offsite mechanics in repair and troubleshooting, for planned and unscheduled maintenance. Perform and/or provide expert advice on mechanical maintenance work.
Inspect work in progress to ensure that maintenance works meets trades standards, schedules are met, and safe working practices are adhered to; monitor work quality and quantity; and provide suggestions on how to improve methods and solve problems.
Participate in Capital improvement projects as assigned. Provide SME input to project management for pumping station designs and improvement. Be responsible for scheduling and coordinating work between CM and other crafts.

Working in a team setting this person will use their journey level maintenance experience to conduct and oversee high level repairs on all types of rotating mechanical equipment including but not limited to, Offsite pumping station repairs, Conveyance systems, Biosolids decanting Blowers, Influent and effluent pumps, Bio-gas scrubbing compressors, gear boxes, conveyance systems and multiple piping systems. What You Will Be Doing:
Provide lead direction and technical assistance to maintenance mechanical staff. Lead responsibilities include but are not limited to determining work assignments, work priorities, work schedules, training, participating in hiring and providing feedback on performance evaluations. Technical duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to training, troubleshooting, repairing and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems
Inspect work in progress to ensure that maintenance works meets trades standards, schedules are met and safe working practices are adhered to; monitor work quality and quantity; and provide suggestions to supervisor and other staff on how to improve methods and solve problems
Review and evaluate work orders to determine work scheduling and priorities; organize, prepare, maintain and verify accuracy of equipment history records and ensure that work is being performed in an efficient and cost-effective manner
Making decisions and facilitating communications between work groups as required
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications You Bring:

Knowledge of journey level mechanical maintenance or millwright work experience (five years) in an industrial maintenance environment

Knowledge and experience in heavy equipment mechanical maintenance repair work and replacement criteria

Knowledge of supervisory techniques and principles including human resources techniques and principles
-
Oral and written communication skills; ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions

Knowledge and experience in applying maintenance planning and scheduling techniques and principles

Skill in troubleshooting and problem solving equipment and machinery issues with limited documentation

Skill in working in a team environment and with employees in skilled trades classifications

Working Conditions:
Work Location: West Point Treatment Plant - 1400 Discovery Park Blvd. Seattle, WA 98199 and West Offsite Facilities.-
Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible. This position requires flexibility to work all shift schedules and report during adverse or inclement weather conditions.

Union Representation: This position is represented by S.E.I.U. 925 (Wastewater Treatment Division).

Physical Requirement: Incumbents perform field work at a wastewater treatment plant and associated facilities and are required to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, use ladders, and there is exposure to hazardous chemicals and noxious odors and high noise levels.

Workplace Exposure: All weather conditions in an industrial wastewater environment. Will be around chemicals, loud noise, and biohazards. Will be entering confined spaces, and will need to wear a respirator.
