Infant Assistant Teacher

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily care routines for infants, including feeding, diapering, and soothing to ensure comfort and safety
  • Support classroom activities that promote early childhood development, such as sensory play, tummy time, and social interactions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment by following health and safety protocols at all times
  • Observe and document each infant’s progress, behaviors, and milestones to inform personalized care plans
  • Collaborate with lead teachers to implement age-appropriate curriculum activities that stimulate cognitive and motor skills
  • Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's daily experiences and developmental updates
  • Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and fostering a nurturing atmosphere

Skills

  • Strong understanding of childhood development principles specific to infants and toddlers
  • Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar caregiving roles
  • Knowledge of infant care best practices including feeding routines, diapering procedures, and sleep schedules
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations; certification in first aid is preferred
  • Familiarity with special education needs and working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
  • Excellent classroom management skills combined with patience, empathy, and positive behavior management techniques
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and engaging with families

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
