Infant Care Teacher

Position Overview:

The Infant Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for infants (ages 6 weeks to 12 months). This position plays a key role in promoting each child’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development while maintaining open communication with families and supporting a collaborative classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, loving care that meets each infant’s individual needs.
  • Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that encourage sensory exploration, early communication, and developmental milestones.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment in compliance with state licensing standards.
  • Build strong relationships with families through daily communication and updates on their child’s progress and routines.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of feedings, diaper changes, naps, and developmental observations.
  • Collaborate with assistant teachers to ensure consistent, high-quality care and supervision.
  • Support infants’ emerging independence, including promoting tummy time, fine and gross motor development, and social engagement.
  • Follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures, including sanitization and safe sleep practices.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training as required by the center and state licensing standards.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet state licensing requirements for an Infant Lead Teacher.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED (CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework preferred).
  • Childcare experience
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Warm, patient, and dependable demeanor with a genuine love for children.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour
